Molyvos and Molly's Bar

View from Molyvos castle

What the guidebooks should say about Lesvos is ... go straight to Molyvos. Sure it is on the other side of the island and you might have to drive through a herd of shaggy goats to get there, but it is fairly spectacular.
It has a castle on a hill, a harbour full of fishing boats and lots of good places to eat and drink.
At sunset we stumbled into Molly's Bar down above the harbour which has a balcony with views. It has a amiable Londoner, Paul, as the owner who welcomes you with a chat and a bowl of nuts. It was full of Poms who had just flown in, but he was expecting the locals to fill the place about midnight. Michelle had the Pina Colada made from environmentally friendly pineapple juice, Michelle felt very environmentally friendly by the end of it, too.
